Shaykh Muhammad explains the tafsir of the following ayah of the Qur'an:
Those who entered the home (darr) and the faith before the other ones (Muhajireen), they love those who migrate over to them. They are not jealous (no bad feelings in their hearts) against those who have been given things and they favour others over themselves, even if they are in dire need. S/he who is saved from their own greed / miserliness, they are indeed the successful ones.
Surah al-Hashr, Verse 9
The ayah was revealed on the Ansar / supporters, radi Allahu anhu ajma'een, i.e. those who were in Madinah. They became Muslims before Muhajireen in the event of Bai'atul Aqabah, the group of 70 Ansar who went back and changed the entire city to become Muslims. They were ready for the arrival of the Prophet ﷺ. Home in this verse could be house/home/city/country. Al-Qur'an calls al-Madinah as home.
This was revealed when the Muhajireen migrated to Madinah.
