Days of Glory is a 2006 Algerian film directed by French-Algerian Rachid Bouchareb. The cast includes Sami Bouajila, Jamel Debbouze, Samy Naceri, Roschdy Zem, Mélanie Laurent and Bernard Blancan.
It tells the story of the upwards of 233,000 Algerian (of the 450,000 North African) soldiers who joined the French Army and fought against Nazism in World War II. Despite liberating Europe, veterans of the war had their pensions suspended by the French authorities after Algeria fought for and won its independence from France. As a result of the pressure raised by this film, those pensions had to be reinstated for those surviving veterans.
