Just as they are sacred places, mosques stand as emblems of human civilisation. Their preservation is, therefore, an international obligation and a moral duty. No one is to be allowed to abuse such edifices, vandalise them or violate their sanctity. But what has been witnessed in Palestine is the absolute reverse.
