From the earliest chronicler of the Hanbali school of jurisprudence this book details how Al-Khallal thought one should strive to eat and economise from the fruit of one's labour, especially through trade, handiwork or agriculture, rather than relying on handouts or sufficing with the bare minimum required for living. The whole edifice for this endeavour is the pursuit of lawful sustenance (rizq halal) in both food and income.
