Zapatismo is nowadays the most radical, and perhaps the most important, political initiative in the world. The Zapatistas challenge in words and deeds every aspect of contemporary society. In revealing the root cause of the current predicaments, they tear to tatters the framework of the economic society (capitalism), the nation-state, formal democracy and all modern institutions.
