Compiled by the Persian scholar Imām al-Bukhārī in the 9th century CE, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī is a collection of authentic reports (ḥadīth) on the practices and traditions of the Prophet Muḥammad (peace be upon him). It is regarded by the majority of Muslims as the most authoritative religious text after the Holy Qurʾān. To this day, Imām al-Bukhārī’s work continues to serve as the benchmark of scholarly excellence in the field of ḥadīth studies.
This new commentary includes the original Arabic text of each ḥadīth, along with a fresh translation in Plain English. For each narration, Shaykh Omar Subedar also provides a detailed analysis and practical conclusions that are relevant to Muslims today. His research has been drawn from five main sources:
